5 Kinds of Essays You May Not Have Even Considered

In his classic treatise, The Art of article writing, published in 1844, Charles Lamb was able to describe three distinct sorts of composition –an intriguing essay, a literary composition, and an essay that will’stand the test of time’ Though he did not exhaust the possibilities of this essay, he presented three broad kinds that remain the basic classes to this day. Most essays contain at least one text citation–a quoting passage or paraphrase that names the particular source. In all, there are normally about five citations each essay.

This kind of essay may either support a specific coverage (e.g., gun control), present a position (e.g., the government’s poverty applications do not work), make an argument (e.g., the USA has among the largest per capita budgets for gun control in the world), or even make an observation (e.g., humans have a tendency to treat animals with tender care). Proponents of any 1 policy may use such essays to try to sway the public. Opponents can use them and many others to prove their point.
