Kaleidoscope

The kaleidoscope was invented by the Scottish physicist David Brewster in 1817, and describes an optical instrument in which the careful mounting of loose parts – coloured glass or plastic and mirrors – results in the reflection of an infinite variety of beautiful patterns.
