ModaLisboa (Lisbon Fashion Week) has recently opened the application phase for the new edition of its contest – “Sangue Novo” (Young Blood), where new talents are searched until June 30.
Who can apply to this contest? Everyone who graduates from a higher education course in Fashion Design from national and international schools and all newcomer designers beginning their career. To apply, all candidates must submit an original project for men and/or women, for season Spring/Summer 2018.
The jury, which considers “innovation, irreverence and creativity” criteria, as explained in a statement, will select between 8 and 10 projects to be presented at the “Sangue Novo” fashion show during edition 49 of one of the biggest national fashion events, which will take place between this year’s 5th and 8th October.
The author of the best collection wins a ModaLisboa award worth 5 thousand euros gaining also direct access to the new edition of Sangue Novo in March 2018. Additionally, the winner is awarded with a summer course, offered by the famous Domus Academy in Milan.
As in past editions one of the designers is invited to present his work and represent Portugal at FashionClash, a Dutch Fashion Festival, with talents from all over the world.
The Feeting Room award is new in this edition. In this case, the winner is selected by The Feeting Room directors gaining the chance to sell his collection at the stores in Lisbon and Porto.
